Sunday 25th March 2012
Hansa Rostock 0 FC Erzgebirge Aue 1
Admission 19 euros
Programme 1 euro
Attendance 13,000
I set off at 6.00am from my base in Leipzig to get to this game. It took over 5 hours to get to Rostock via Berlin and it seemed a very long time. There was a heavy Police presence at the stations on the way to Rostock and also on the train. I've got to say that this day out was the big let down of the weekend. I travelled by tram from the railway station to a stop near the ground. I purchased a 19 euro seat ticket in section 3 behind one of the goals. Now I am used to ending up in the wrong sections of stadiums and once again this happened. There are two section 3's. One for standing and the other for sitting. Unfortunately as I entered the wrong number 3 my ticket (everyones ticket) was taken off me by a steward. When I realised that I was in a standing section I went to retrieve my ticket. No chance. So I stood in a corner of the stadium with a poor cramped view. The back of the stand was blocked off which seemed really stupid as the other 3 standing corners were fully opened.
This was another good game as Hansa had a player sent off after 12 minutes. Despite this they should have won this game with the number of chances they created and also missed a penalty.
Food and beer is by cash but I didn't take up the offer of a roll mop.
Prorgrammes were on sale outside the ground at 1 euro. Another Conference North style programme 40 page programme printed on extremely thin paper. There was also a supporters issue but I couldn't get hold of a copy.
Only 3 clubs left to visit to complete the clubs who played in the last season of the East German Oberliga.
