Rugby League - Millom v Castleford Panthers - 2nd June 2012

Millom 50 Castleford Panthers 4
NCL 1
Admission £2.00
Programme 50p (56 pages)
Att around 280 in ground (60 standing outside watching over the boundary wall)

A comfortable win for the Woolly Backs but the score should have been higher. Unfortunately the Ref had a shocker. Very poor around the play the ball, lying on etc and allowed the Panthers a lot of leeway with the majority of decisions going in their favour. It was obvious what this was going to lead to - a brawl. Panthers decided to try their luck with a bit of 'Biff', the Ref let it happen and then it kicked off.

The pitch is fenced off on 3 sides. The clubhouse and seperate changing room block are down one side. Also on this side is concrete hard standing and a 3 step terrace. There is no cover. Icecream & a burger van were in attendance.

I managed to get tbe last programme at the entry shed. Not much to read in the 56 pages. Although there were some very strange pictures inside - naked men etc.

I really enjoyed the day. It's a club really in the heart of the community and well supported. Millom is quite isolated and a visit is a bit like going back in time. Don't let that put you off.
